Construction of the gas pipeline is part of larger plans to develop the engineering infrastructure on the site of the future ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre, construction of which begins later this year.

 

Currently, about 200 meters of pipeline has been built, which is about 30% of the entire project.

ExpoForum’s Convention and Exhibition Centre will be built according to the highest environmental standards, the so-called golden certificate issued by the prominent American organization, U.S. Green Building Council, LEED.

 

The certificate issued by LEED – the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design – confirms the green status of a project, and it bears witness to the fact that the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre is built with modern energy-efficient materials and technologies that are safe for the environment.

Anatoly Erkulov, ExpoForum general director, said that, “There are few projects in Russia that meet energy-efficient standards, but ExpoForum plans to be a good example of how an environmentally-friendly policy can be good for business. In addition, we think it’s important to adhere to sustainability principles because we strive to build the most modern convention venue in Russia.’’

On January 13 ExpoForum JSC began removal of the existing engineering infrastructure, and began to prepare the ground for the new infrastructure on the territory of the new convention and exhibition centre which will open in 2013.

 

At the moment, the water and drainage systems, as well as the gas supply and distribution station, are being removed from the territory of the future ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. The electricity and low-voltage systems will be removed in the nearest time. Project Technology Ltd. is in charge of the work.

“We expect that infrastructure removal will take 4 months, after which we can began the actual construction of the convention and exhibition centre,” said ExpoForum general director Anatoly Erkulov.

Evgeny Lavrov, general director of Project Technology Ltd., said, “Work on such a large and important site must be done flawlessly and within the time period designated by the client. Therefore, we shall have close coordination on all aspects of the removal of the infrastructure systems.”

The City Committee for Energy and Engineering Infrastructure approved a gas boiler system for the future ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre.

 

The boiler system will provide the convention centre with heating, hot water, as well as ventilation and air conditioning. The system will have a capacity of 32 Gcal/hour. The state approval is an important step toward obtaining the technical conditions for gas supply, and a limit on gas.
